NAME DESIGNATION MESSAGE MR. DEEPAK GUPTA(Retd.) Ex-Chairman -UPSC PRESIDENT Mr Deepak Gupta belongs to the 1974 batch of the IAS. He did BA from Allahabad University, MA History from St. Stephen’s College, M Phil from School of International Studies, JNU and MPA from Kennedy School, Harvard University. He served for 39 years. He retired as Secretary MNRE September 2011. From November 2014 to September 2016 he was also Chairman of the UPSC. After retirement he has consulted with World Bank, UNIDO etc; speaks and writes about health, energy, climate change and governance issues. He has written books on Achieving Universal Energy Access in India, The Steel frame: A History of the IAS and his memoirs entitled Small Things Matter – Key to Good Governance. He is currently honorary DG of the National Solar Energy Federation of India. He has been involved with the East Point School for last 20 years. MR.ATUL CHATURVEDI I.A.S. (Retd.) Ex Chairman PSB VICE PRESIDENT Mr Atul Chaturvedi is a retired Secretary in the Government of India, a distinguished member of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS, UP Cadre,1974 batch). He had been district magistrate in Bulandshahar,Dehradoon, and has held various positions in UP including Secretary Higher Education, Industry, Power and Principal Secretary Institutional Finance.He has had various assignments in the central government in the Ministries of Commerce & Induatry, Textiles, Rural Development, Steel, and Chemicals and Fertilizers etc. He is presently Chairman of Institut e of Peace and Conflict Studies (IPCS), a well renowned think tank in New Delhi. He is a Master of Science in Physics from Lucknow University. Before joining IAS he was lecturer in the Lucknow University. MS. AMITA GUPTA (Educationist) SECRETARY East Point School is relatively young in age, yet again in this short period, has evolved as one of the more progressive Senior Secondary Schools in the area. East Point Education Society over the years has been able to provide infrastructure of which the children can be proud off. The school is managed by a team of professionals who are recognised in their area of expertise. MS. VANDANA SOOD (Educationist) JT. SECRETARY I graduated from from Delhi university and did my teachers training too.I begun my teaching career in east point school as a PRT in 1985 Yes it’s been a long journey which I have thoroughly enjoyed. My passion for teaching drove my ambition to teach senior classes and then I was promoted as headmistress to care for primary classes which was challenging but very satisfying. Holding hands of the children and showing them the way, organising sports day and annual day, motivating children and teachers alike – all this and much more made most of my day. Working as a team was indeed fruitful and encouraging each member of the team to use their strengths to their potential was indeed challenging .And then the role of manager which is again a satisfying one. BRIG. ARVIND KUMAR (Retd.) TREASURER Brig. Arvind Kumar was commissioned in Dec 1984 from IMA, Dehradun. An Armoured Corps officer he tenated various appointments across the country including being an instructor at IMA and commanding an Infantry Brigade in the Dera Baba Nanak sector. He has attended various courses including Defence Services Staff College at Wellington. During his military career, he had an opportunity to be the Chairman of the School Management Committee of APS Ambala, APS Dinjan and KV Dinjan. MR. UDAY SHANKAR DUTT (Retd. I.P.S. Officer ) MEMBER – EXECUTIVE COUNCIL/ GOVERNING BODY Uday Shankar Dutt joined the Indian Police Service in 1976 and was allotted to the Bihar Cadre. He has worked as District Superintendent of Police in four districts, namely Patna, Chapra, Darbhanga and Rohtas. He was rewarded for his contribution in prevention and detection of crime, maintenance of law & order, police welfare, training and modernisation. While with the State Government, he has been posted as Special Secretary (Home), Inspector General of Police, Wireless and Director General, Home Guards and Fire Services, Bihar. MS. DEEPIKA MAGO (Educationist) MEMBER – EXECUTIVE COUNCIL/ GOVERNING BODY Ms. Deepika Mago,M.Sc. B.Ed. MR. RANJIT GUPTA (Retd. I.F.S.) MEMBER – EXECUTIVE COUNCIL/ GOVERNING BODY Ranjit Gupta is a retired Indian Foreign Service officer. He was a member of the Prime Minister’s National Security Advisory Board for the term 2009-2010. He is currently Distinguished Fellow of the Institute of Peace and Conflict Studies, New Delhi. Earlier he has been Adjunct Faculty in the International Strategic and Security Studies Programme at the National Institute of Advanced Studies, Bengaluru; Visiting Fellow at the Institute of Chinese Studies; Visiting Fellow at the Institute of Defence Studies and Analyses; Visiting Professor at the Academy of Third World Studies, Jamia Millia Islamia; and Ambassador-in-Residence at the Jawaharlal Nehru University. He has been delivering lectures at think tanks, universities and other academic institutions in India and aboard and participating in conferences, seminars and workshops in India and aboard relating to India’s relations with West Asia and in particular the Gulf region thereof; South East Asia and East Asia with emphasis on Asia, China, Myanmar, Taiwan, Tibet and India’s ‘Look East’ Policy. MS. BHADRA MITTAL (Journalist) MEMBER – EXECUTIVE COUNCIL/ GOVERNING BODY Bhadra Mittal is a senior journalist with over two decades of experience in the media industry. She is currently Associate Editor with ThePrint – an online news portal that promotes independent journalism. In her earlier assignment she worked with the three mainstream news dailies – The Indian Express, The Times of India and Hindustan Times. MS. SAROJ TIKKU (Educationist) MEMBER – EXECUTIVE COUNCIL/ GOVERNING BODY I have spent my teaching years mainly in three schools ,Mater Dei convent School,(8years as teacher) ,The British school (20 years as Teacher,,Deputy principal and Head of A Level )and after retirement as college counsellor at Vasant valley School . MR. JAYANTA SANYAL I.A.S. (Retd.) MEMBER Jayanta Sanyal I.A.S. (Retired) M.A.(English Literature) Allahabad University 1963.Lecturer Allahabad Univetsity 1963 to 1965. Indian Administrative Service 1965 to 2001.Served in State Govt West Bengal Kolkata , Govt of India New Delhi and Sikkim. Member Intach, President West Bengal Kayaking and Canoeing Association. Associated with Tourism and Travel Industryas Adviser, Heritage Hotels, Forests, Adventure Sports. MS. VRINDA SARUP I.A.S. (Retd.) MEMBER Ms. Vrinda sarup, is a retired IAS officer of the 1981 batch, who has served as Secretary to Govt of India in the Department of Education and Literacy, Ministry of Human resources development and in the Department of Food and Public Distribution. Ms.sarup has worked in the sector of education for over 23 years both at the Central and State Government, where she has experience both as an implementer and policy maker. She has been central to the revision of pre-service teacher training programmes and the national pupil assessment and the assessments of school performance systems. Ms. Sarup continues to be associated with the education and social sectors after retirement as also initiatives for food security and nutrition. MR. PUNEET MITTAL (Sr. Advocate) MEMBER MAJ. GEN. HARWANT KRISHAN(Retd.) MEMBER Major General Harwant Krishan served in the Indian Army for 42 years. On retirement, he has been associated with EPES since 2007. MR. DIWAKAR GUPTA (Engineer) MEMBER Diwakar Gupta got his MS in Computer Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where he was a Seibel Scholar and his BE in Computer Engineering from the Delhi Institute of Technology. Diwakar is currently a Principal Engineer working on the Technical Infrastructure that powers Google Cloud. Previously, he was a Senior Principal Engineer at Amazon Web Services, working on AWS Elastic Compute Cloud. Diwakar has 19+ years experience in building, measuring and operating highly available and high performance distributed systems with simple user experiences. He sets the technical direction for large organizations and has bootstrapped, hired and mentored geographically distributed teams. He’s the inventor or co-inventor on over 75 US patents.Diwakar currently resides in Seattle, WA. MR. SAURAV SANYAL (Independent Consultant) MEMBER Saurav is the Managing Partner of Strategica LLP, a management consulting firm based in the National Capital Region of Delhi. He is an expert on global trade and advises the Board’s of number of Indian and international companies on developing their global expansion strategy. Saurav was nominated as the Chairman of the Ireland India Business Association in March 2022. He also serves on the Council of Directors of Gujarat University, a State University ranked amongst India’s top 50 Universities. Saurav is a certified National level Kayaking Instructor and a Classical Guitarist from the Associated Board of the Royal School of Music, Delhi School of Music. MR. All in all an eventful journey.
Initially I was working in a Research and Development Laboratory. However after that I have been in the educational field for most of my working career. I was teaching in various schools in Delhi.For example, Mater Dei Convent School, St. Thomas School, Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan and The Army Public School. Since I had to move with my husband on his various postings, I have also taught in a school in Mumbai and in colleges in Nashik and Mumbai.Later,I shifted focus and became an educational consultant. I was conducting workshops for parents and teachers on Early Childhood Development,language fluency and related topics.
I have been a member of the East Point School and Society management for over years..
Bhadra has created a mark in the field of legal journalism. Her experience of writing on courts and subjects associated with law spans across all judicial fora.
Besides, Bhadra is also a Bharatnatyam dancer and continues to pursue the artform despite being a fulltime media professional. She has given performances on several prestigious platforms including the Khajuraho dance festival, Dev Deepawali in Benaras and Sankat Mochan festival in Kashi.
